Francesco Andreottola 93 of Salem, beloved husband of the late Filomena Andreottola, died Saturday, December 20th , 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in San Sossio Baronia, Avellino, Italy, where he was raised and educated. He honorably served in the Italian Army during World War II and was a Prisoner of War in Germany during the war.
He lived in Argentina for many years and he had many happy memories of Argentina. He and his family immigrated to the United States and lived in the North End of Boston. He was a meat cutter until his retirement. He moved to Salem in 2001, where he has since resided.
He always sought a better way of life for his children and grandchildren, thus leading him to the United States. A talented man in many disciplines, he loved to cook and it gave him great pleasure to cook for his grandchildren and extended family. He had an extensive knowledge of opera stories, and he loved to listen to opera and neapolitan music. He was a dedicated and devout catholic, who truly loved his family and always gave them encouragement and strength. He personified the never give up spirit.
Francesco is survived by his daughter, Maria, his son Miguel and his wife Jacqueline, his grandchildren, Marc and Gabriel.
Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
