Don Edward Peters went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 19, 2014. Don was born on January 13, 1934 on his family farm in Talmage, Nebraska. He graduated from Wentworth Military Academy and the University of Nebraska. Don was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Core of Engineers. He retired to Williamsburg after a 30 year career at the Falk Corporation. Don helped keep the whole world singing as a member of the barbershop chorus, The Virginians in Richmond, quartet and The Colony Four in Williamsburg. He was a tireless worker for his churches, St. Stephens and King of Glory in Williamsburg. He lifted his beautiful voice in song in both choirs. Don was the definition of a good neighbor, always available and willing to help and in so doing, he touched many lives. His ability to bring people together with family reunions, neighborhood gatherings, events and church fellowship was a blessing to many.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline Peters; his daughter, Susan Peters Skipper, her husband, Everett and their children, Adam Skipper, Erin Weniger, her husband, Tom, and their son, Mark Peters, his wife, Carolyn and their children, Jessica and Joshua Peters; his brothers, Gerald Peters of Oklahoma City and Rich Peters and his wife, Elaine of Lincoln Nebraska; sister-in-law, Nancy Graf of Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, December 22 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4897 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, VA, with a reception to follow.
