Frank Peter Leone departed this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 20, 2014. He died peacefully in his home in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his loved ones including all four of his children. He had celebrated his 85th birthday the day before.

Frank was born in Middletown, Connecticut on December 19, 1929 the son of Frank and Grace Leone. He had a happy childhood and grew into a young man that enjoyed hunting, horses, golfing, bowling, and all sports with a passion for coaching baseball. Immediately following his graduation from Woodrow Wilson High School in Middletown he entered the United States Air Force. Frank quickly rose in rank, becoming a Chief Master Sergeant in less than eighteen years.

While stationed overseas in Germany, he fell in love with and married the love of his life Lieselotte Vahldieck on May 2, 1952. They remained married until her death in 2002. He served the nation with dedication for over thirty years, completing active duty in 1978. After his USAF career, he settled in San Antonio, where he worked for Frost Bank until his final retirement in 1992.

He is survived by his daughters, Jane Lorenz of Seguin, Shirley Leone of San Antonio, Deborah Berg and spouse Dr. Malcolm Berg of Driftwood, and son Frank P. Leone, III and spouse Linda of Boise, Idaho. Frank had three grandchildren, Dr. Stephen Berg and wife Molly at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Michael Berg in Ft. Worth, Texas and Brianna Nicole of San Antonio, Texas. He had one great grandchild, Brynley Ann Berg. He is also survived by one sister, Jane Conti and spouse Dr. Robert Conti of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and one brother, Raymond Leone and wife Georgianne of Haddam, Connecticut.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Sebastian Leone, daughter Christine and his wife, Lieselotte.

Burial with full military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery?
