Ruth A. Bridges, 94, of Temple, died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at her residence. Visitation will be from 2 to4 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2014, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Chaplain Dr. Rodney Kruse officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park.

Ruth was born in Bartlett, Texas, to the late Ira and Grace Eilenberger Davis. She attended Nicosia’s School of Beauty Culture and worked as a beautician in Temple. Ruth married Jesse B. Bridges on October 23, 1940. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008; infant son, Curtis, in 1943; and a son, Leslie, in 1979.

Survivors include sons, Gary Lee Bridges and Rodney Bridges, both of Temple; a grandson; two granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy Davis, of Leander; sister, Evelyn Berry, of Temple; other relatives and many friends.
