She was born May 30, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Irving Conrad and Anna Violet Gittings Anderson.
Mrs. Flickinger worked as the medical staff coordinator at the Washington Hospital for 22 years, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of the Buffalo Creek Watershed Association and Upper St. Clair-Bethel Park Stroke Support Group. Mrs. Flickinger enjoyed flower gardening and various crafts, including stenciling and stained glass.
She was a member of Church of the Covenant.
On August 6, 1966, she married Charles E. “Ted” Flickinger, Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles E. Flickinger, III (DeAnne) of Nellys Ford, Virginia and Mark Flickinger (Nancy Smith) of St. Petersburg, Florida; a daughter, Valerie Flickinger Sayd (Mustafa) of Falls Church, Virginia; a sister, Carol Carnes of Washington; and three grandchildren, Samia, Ayla and Nya.
Friends will be received Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 15th. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231
