Son of the late John A. and Belle Barbour Jackson, he was the widower of Irene Morgan Jackson. He was a veteran of the United States Army (Korea). He was survived by his children, Dannie Jackson (Cathy) and David Jackson; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives and friends. He was a member of Oliver's Grove Baptist Church where his funeral was held on December 21, 2014, with The Rev. Steve Morris and The Rev. Durwood Jackson officiating.
