WRIGHTSVILLE Steven C. Beard, 62, entered into rest at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Manor Care South after a lengthy illness. He was born in York, on November 21, 1952, son of the late Charles H. and Florence H. (Jackson) Beard. Steven worked on various local farms, and for the former G.F. Plitts & Son and Coca Cola Bottling Co. in York. Surviving are five sisters, Barbara Tharp (Bob) of York New Salem, Linda Fullerton (Robert) of Columbia, Dorothy Keener (David) and Marcia Ettinger (Jeffrey), both of Red Lion, and Rita Brown (Dale) of Windsor; two brothers, Timothy Beard (Lugene) of Red Lion and Keith Beard (Lisa Wilson Beard) of Glen Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan; and two brothers, C. Michael and Jeffrey. There will be a viewing from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 22, at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Steven will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven A. Schmuck, pastor of Red Lion Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Rose Cemetery on Tuesday, December 23, at 10 a.m. Please meet at the entrance at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Heartland Home Health & Hospice, 3417-C Concord Road, York, PA 17402.
