Jeffrey A. Beard, 51, entered into rest at 4:10 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2005, at Manor Care Dallastown after a lengthy illness. Born in York on March 6, 1954, he was the son of Florence H. (Jackson) Beard of Wrightsville and Charles H. Beard who entered into rest June 20, 1989. Mr. Beard assisted with farming on the Stamer and Landis Farms and worked at G.F. Plitts & Son. He attended the Red Lion Bible Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by five sisters, Barbara Tharp of York New Salem, Linda Fullerton of Wrightsville, Dorothy Keener and Rita Beard, both of Red Lion, and Marcia Ettinger of Felton; and four brothers, Charles Beard and Steven Beard, both of Wrightsville, Timothy Beard of Windsor and Keith Beard of Glen Rock. He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Beard. Service Wednesday at Burg Funeral Home, Red Lion, his pastor, Rev. Steven A. Schmuck, officiating. Burial in Mt. Rose Cemetery. [York Daily Record]
