Danny J. Dunn 53, of Indianapolis, passed away Dec. 23, 2005 in Indianapolis. He was born in Washington, Indiana on July 1, 1952, and grew up in Huntingburg. In high school he was an accomplished athlete, interested in all sports, and his love of sports continued throughout his life. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1974, and proudly served his country for over 21 years, retiring as Sgt. 1st Class. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 261, and a member of American Legion Post 495. He married his wife Anita in 1984, and they had two sons, Steven and Robert. He is also survived by two grandchildren; brothers Ray, Doyle, Lankford "Junior", and Jesse; sisters Artie and Barb; father Harold, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Mark and Roger, and mother and step-father Margaret and Robert McCarty. Visitation will be Tues, Dec. 27 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care at Harry Moore Lawrence Chapel, 8669 Pendleton Pike. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riley Children's Hospital.
