WOODBURN - RUTH I BRIEGEL, 82, died Tuesday in her rural home. A former Butler resident she had lived in the area 17 years.
A housewife, Mrs Briegel was born Feb 3, 1903 to John and Anna (Bittikofer) Light in Bucyrus Ohio. She married Carl Briegel in Chatfield Ohio on Nov 9, 1924. He died Sept 28, 1959.
Survivors include two daughters Mrs Wanda Mallot of Youngstown Ohio and Rosanna Briegel at home; three sisters Mrs Mabel Hauck of Crestline Ohio, Mrs Fairy Strickler of Portsmouth Ohio and Mrs Ethel Lutz of Cleveland Heights Ohio; and one granddaughter of Youngstown Ohio.
A son John preceded his mother in death.
Mrs Briegel was a member of the Butler St Mark's Lutheran Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
Services will be at 1 pm on Friday in Johnson's Funeral Home at Butler. Pastor Frank Stevenson will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm on Thursday. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.
