Charlotte E Koontz Blanchard, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully Monday, July 2nd, 2018, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.

Charlotte was born and raised on a farm outside of Elkton, VA. After graduating high school, she attended Dunmore Business School in Staunton, VA. She moved to Blacksburg, Va and worked at Virginia Tech for several years before becoming a travel agent, where she was able to enjoy traveling the world, with her favorite location being Great Britain.

Charlotte was the anchor of the family; a generous and loving wife and mother. She was an excellent seamstress and passionate about quilting. Charlotte also made over 2000 customized pink hand towels for her daughter’s breast cancer patients.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Blanchard and her daughter, Jacqueline L Blanchard. Charlotte is survived by her brother, David Koontz, her sister, Joanne Koontz Shiflett, her daughter, Darlene Kay Blanchard, and son, Thomas W Blanchard, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jul 7th, at the Kyger Funeral Home, 115 Nicholson Rd, Elkton, VA.

Remembrances in Charlotte’s name can be made to the American Heart Association.
