Betty Virginia Higgs, age 85 of Toronto, OH born September 11, 1929 in Wellsville, OH passed away peacefully at the Sienna Skilled Nursing Home, Wintersville, OH December 16, 2014.She is the daughter of James Lamp of Toronto, OH and Mildred Willis (Lamp) Fotheringham of Steubenville, OH and was preceded in death by both parents, her sister Norma Jean VanDine of Pasadena, TX and step great-granddaughter Pamela Ware.
Betty raised her kids in Pottery Addition; worked at the old Holiday Distributors in downtown Steubenville, OH for many years. She loved being outdoors and loved the beach.
She is survived by her six children, Kenneth (Barb) Higgs of Toronto, OH, Barb (Paul) Block of Cincinnati, OH, Joyce (Dave) Baldauf of Follansbee, WV, Mitchell Higgs of Pooler, GA, Mark Higgs of Toronto, OH and Rodger (Cathy) Higgs of Oakland, MD. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, one step granddaughter; 20 great-grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter, three step great-great-granddaughters and nephew Larry VanDine of Houston, TX.
Burial will be at the Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH.
