Mrs Naugle, who is 70 years of age, is the former Elizabeth J VanBuren, daughter of Mr and Mrs Stephen VanBuren, of East Toledo. Her father for many years was assistant superintendent of the old rolling mills on the Maumee River until its closing during the depression of 1898. Her grandparents Mr and Mrs Henry VanBuren came from Syracuse N.Y. and settled near the mills in the early days when the River Road was of plank. She is the oldest of a family of 11, six sisters of whom are still living.

Mr and Mrs Naugle came to Britton 35 years ago in 1920 to make their home on the former Cannon farm with their four sons Leslie, Warren Jr., Roy and Milton. A year later a daughter Betty was born. Nine years ago the Naugles bought two acres from their son Leslie who had purchased the Sutton farm on Macon Road and with the help of their sons their present home was built. Leslie then sold seven acres to his brother Warren Jr., who has built and lives next to his parents. Roy and his family live on a farm, east of Cone; Milton and family have a farm on Pennington Road and their daughter and husband, Mr and Mrs Wilbur Starry, former residents of Tecumseh, now live in Ann Arbor. The Naugles also have 17 grandchildren and one great grandson. Mr Naugle also has a son Harry by a previous marriage. He lives in Medford, Ore. A daughter Ethel died in 1941.
