Alfred Lawrence Weakland, 84, of Tecumseh, died at the Tecumseh Care Center in Tecumseh Saturday after a six month illness.
Mr. Weakland was born in Steinauer January 5, 1896, the son of William and Anna F Weakland. He grew up around Tecumseh and farmed all his life near Tecumseh until he moved to Tecumseh when he retired. He was educated at Steinauer. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church until his retirement when he changed to St. Andrew Catholic Church at Tecumseh.
He is survived by his wife, Clara, a son Norman Weakland of Grand Island and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Msgr. Adams Szmydt officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at St. Mary. Pallbearers were grandsons, James, Gerald and John Weakland and nephews Leonard Weakland, Donald Goracke and Robert Ambroz.
