Funeral Service Held Tuesday For Woman, 93

The funeral of Mrs. Birdie Bell Kamenzind, 93, of 306 Ave. J, was conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Seventh Day Adventist Church by Hollis A. Morel and Jose S. Espinosa of Amarillo.

Burial in West Park Cemetery was directed by Gililland Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kamenzind died at her home Monday morning. She had been a Hereford resident since 1963 when she moved from Castro County. Born Sept. 12, 1877, in Gernsey County, Ohio, she came to Texas in 1929 from Oklahoma.

She married Louis B. Kamenzind May 5, 1896, in Denison. He died here Nov. 26, 1965. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Two daughters, Miss Pauline Kamenzind and Mrs. F.L. Stayton, both of Hereford, survive her with 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

HEREFORD - Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 a.m. today in the Seventh Day Adventist Church here for Mrs. Birdie Bell Kamenzind, 93, of Hereford, who died Monday morning at her home following a lengthy illness.

Amarillo ministrs [sic], the Elder Hollis A. Morel and the Rev. Jose S. Espinosa, were to officiate. Burial was to be in West Park Cemetery under the direction of the Gililland Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kamenzind was born in Gernsey County, Ohio. She came to Texas in 1929 from Oklahoma and had been a Hereford resident for the past seven years.

She married Louis B. Kamenzind on May 5, 1896, in Denison. He died in 1965. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church here.

Surviving are two daughters, Miss Pauline Kamenzind and Mrs. T.L. Stayton, both of Hereford; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
