Services for Nora A. Curry Vieregge, 94, are to be held on Friday, Feb. 19, 1993, at 10:00 a.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. The Rev. Aaron Oden, pastor of Vincent Baptist Church will officiate. He will be assisted by Robert Turner of Oasis Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vieregge died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1993 at 7:30 a.m. at Scenic Mountain Medical Center following a short illness.

She was born Dec. 24, 1898 at Cross Plains. She was the 3rd of 10 children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Marsh Moore of Blackwell. She was also the granddaughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Moore of Hilton. Her family was among the pioneer families who settled Nolan County.

She married Archie R. Curry in 1913. He preceded her in death in 1943. In 1955, she married Alvin Vieregge of Big Spring. He preceded her in death in 1971.

Through October 1992, Mrs. Vieregge was an active member of Oasis Church of Christ and the Big Spring Senior Citizen Center. Saturdays she had her hair fixed and at least once a week she had dinner out with some of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Freeman of Big Spring; two sons, Marshall Curry of Sweetwater and Charles David Curry of Granbury; two step-sons, Charles Vieregge of Big Spring and Harry Vieregge of North Highlands, Calif.; two sisters, Martha Oden of Sweetwater and Faye Moore of Midland; one brother, Thurman Moore of Colorado City; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, Howard County Division, P.O. Box 1223, Big Spring, Texas 79721-1223, or to the Sweetwater Cemetery Trust Fund, c/o the City of Sweetwater, 200 E. 4th St., Sweetwater, Texas 79556.

With her death an era has ended. Her life was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.
