Born in Washington Township, he was a son of the late William W. and Lydia E. (Rehrig) Kistler.
He was a member and former deacon and elder of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Slatedale. He was also a trustee of Lehigh Furnace Sunday school since 1954.
Surviving with his widow are two sons, William C. of Slatington R.2 and Ronald E. of Slatington R.3; a sister, Mrs. Helen Rex of Allentown; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Robert K. Hahn Funeral Home, 1778 Main St., Slatedale. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Friday.
