CAL CHAMBERS
Sioux Falls, South Dakota -- Cal Chambers, 49, with his family at his side, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2001, at Sioux Valley Hospital.

Cal, son of Earl and Hazel Chambers, was born October 16, 1951 in Denison. He was united in marriage with Mary Niewind on September 13, 1975 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1976, the couple made their home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Cal was the Director of Estimates and Schedules at Ronning Enterprises. He later became the Vice President of Marketing and Building Systems. In 1989, Cal joined McDowell-Rogers Realtors as an Associate. He became a partner with the firm in 1997.

He was a member of Sioux Falls Board of Realtors, South Dakota Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors. He was also a member of Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce and a past member of Sioux Falls Homebuilders Association. Cal served in the Air National Guard.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Mary; son, Britton and daughter, Summer; his mother, Hazel of Dunlap; two brothers, Ken and wife Candy of Chicago, Illinois, Craig and wife Kathy of Visalia, California; two sisters, Jan Baeth and husband Ron of West Des Moines, Karen Swenson and husband Reverend Craig of Minonk, Illinois; brother-in-law, Denny Niewind of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; three sisters-in-law, Dotti Muxlow of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Bev Dorr and husband Tom of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Joan Wagman and husband Tom of Minnetonka, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cal was preceded in death by his father, Earl; Mary's parents, Susan and Harold; and her brother, Lance.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2001, at St. Lambert Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
