He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Peabody Coal Company, Ken Surface Mine, where he worked as a welder.
Survivors include his wife, Cordellia S. Alexander; four sons, Ron, Ted, Steve and Larry Alexander; and two brothers, George and Melvin Alexander.
Memorial services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home.
