She was born in Caldwell County in Kentucky on July 20, 1913, to the late David Scobie and Willie Medora Alexander.
She was a retired teacher, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, a member of Eastern Star #390 for over 50 years, a past Queen of Neith Temple #80 Daughters of the Nile, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Madisonville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Givens Buntin on August 16, 1985; two sisters, Frances Alexander and Retta Molzen; and one brother, Delmar Alexander.
She is survived by one son, Charles Thomas Buntin of Mayfield, Kentucky; one sister, Ammie Ward of Princeton, Kentucky; three brothers, George Alexander of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, Melvin Alexander of Princeton, and Fordney Alexander of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville with the Rev. Tom Webster and Bro. Danny Lutz officiating.
Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the First Christian Church in Madisonville.
