George Baird Edgar is the son of John Edgar (1785-1841) and Angnes Beard (Baird) (1800-1867). As a young man in Scotland he met and fell in love with a sweet, young lassie named Isabella Japp (1834-1918)in 1850. Soon they moved to Dalgety, Fifeshire, Scotland and began to raise their family. A grand total of thirteen. Eleven boys and two girls. They remained in Dalgety until 1879 when they booked passage to America. It appears that after their arrival in 1880, (he was 50 years old and Issabella was 46), they made their home in Salt Lake City, Utah and remained there until Issabella died in 1916 and George followed in 1917. They're both at rest in Salt Lake Cemetery. Nine of their children were born in Scotland and the final four after their arrival in Utah.
