George Cecil Crabb, the third son of Harry
and Matilda Crabb, was born on October 22, 1903, at Kingsley, Iowa, and
departed this life at Spalding Rehabilitation Center on April 8, 1977, at the
age of 73 years, 5 months and 17 days.

His early life was spent with his parents on
a farm near Kingsley, Iowa.

In 2909, he and his parents and two brothers
and sister came to Colorado. His father homesteaded about 18 miles north of
Genoa, where George grew to manhood.

He was an energetic young man, always working
hard and helping his friends and neighbors at every opportunity. He loved the
soil and broke several quarters of sod, using four head of horses on a
single-bottom head plow.

On February 19, 1 927, he married Bertha
Thoma. To this union were born two daughters and one son. The family lived in
south Washington County near Last Chance, Colo., for several years. The
withstood the perils of farm and ranch life in the early thirties. Together
with their young, they built up their own place.

They continued farming and ranching until
1947 when they moved to the Denver area. George loved people and make friends
wherever he went. Although he had left the farm, he never lost his love for the
great outdoors and was always interested in the farm, particularly livestock.

George was a Gates employee for 171/2 years,
retiring in 1968.

Due to poor health, he and his wife, Bertha,
quietly celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary on February 19 of
this year.

He was preceded in death by his parents and
three brothers, Glen, Clayton (Jack) and Harry Jr. He leaves to mourn his
passing, his devoted wife Bertha; one son, Cecil (Joy) from Denver; two
daughters, Fern Hale (Colman) of Harrison, Ark., and Evelyn Graham (Leon) of
Durango, Colo; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; four sisters, Hazel
Templeton from Ft. Collins, Colo; Nina Hammond from Eureka, California; Martha
Songer from Orofina, Idaho' and Mabel Ludwig from Weyerhauser, Wisconsin; three
brothers, Roy from Fairplay, Colo.; Andy from Simia, Colo.; and Robert from
Niwot, Colo.

In addition, he leaves several nieces and
nephews and a host of friends.
