Donald Leroy "Windy” Wilson,
57, Rt. 2, Delphi, was dead on arrival
Sunday, July 20, 1980, at 8
p.m. at Home Hospital after falling
from a tree at his daughter’s home
in Mulberry.
He was born April 6, 1923, in
Carroll County to Clarence and
Nora Allbaugh Wilson. He was
married in Remington on May 11,
1946, to Wanda L. Hendryx, who
survives.
He was an employee of the Delphi
Street Department and an employee
for 21 years of the Delphi American
Legion. He was a member of the
Delphi United Methodist Church,
the Harry Bohannon American
Legion Post No. 75 in Delphi, the
Century Club, the VFW Post No.
9383 in Delphi, the Voiture 40 and
8, and the Masonic Lodge No. 605
at Flora.
Surviving with the wife are three
sons, James of Lafayette, and Rex
and Doug of Delphi; two daughters,
Sue Greer of Mulberry and Cheryl
Roberson of Rossville; two stepchildren,
Larry Moore and Rose
Hoshaw, both of Delphi; two
sisters, Kathryn Reef of Bringhurst
and Blanche Rappe of Whittier,
Calif.; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one
brother.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m.
this afternoon (Wednesday) at the
Delphi United Methodist Church
with the Rev. Donald Ashley officiating.
Military graveside services
were in the Pittsburg Cemetery.
Thompson Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements. Masonic
services were held Tuesday at 7:30 at
the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be
made the Carroll County Cancer
Association or the Delphi American
Legion.
