Louis was the youngest of 10 brothers and 3 sisters. Louis was living with his father in Soldier Pond, Maine, when he enlisted in the Marines 6 November 1967, at a recruiting office in Albany, New York.
After arriving in Vietnam 21 June 1968, Louis was assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. The battalion was participating in Operation Lancaster II/Trousdale with Alpha Company operating 19 kilometers north northwest of the Cu La Airfield, when the Marines engaged hostile forces. Louis died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the body from a hostile explosive device.
Survived by his father, Willie H Daigle of PO Box 12, Soldier Pond, Maine and his brothers ; Sgt Berthol J Daigle with the Marines at the MCRD, San Diego. He served during the Korean War with the Marines, Gilman Daigle served during World War II with the Army, Edmund Daigle served during the Korean War with the Army, Albert Daigle served during the Korean War with the Army, Wilfred Daigle served during the Korean War with the Marines, Leo Paul Daigle, Philip Daigle, and his 3 sisters; Rinette D Lamore, Yette Levesque and Bernette Daigle.

His mother; Flavia Daigle was deceased.
