* Son of Drury SPURLOCK & Olive CLAIR / CLEER.

* On 18 September 1812 he was Commissioned as an Ensign in the Smith Co., TN. Militia.

* He served from __ November 1814 to __ May 1815 as an Ensign in Capt. Edward Robinson's Company of Smith Co., TN. Militia, Lt.-Col. James Roulston's 3rd Reg't., West TN. Militia Infantry, Brig.-Gen. Nathaniel Taylor's Brigade, Maj.-Gen. William Carroll's Division, War of 1812.

* He married on __ _____ 1819 in Smith or Wilson Co., Tennessee to Leah MANIER

* He is listed as head of household on the 1820 Wilson Co., TN. Census; the 1840 Warren Co., TN. Census & the 1850 Jackson Co., TN. Census.

* He moved to Warren Co., TN. from Smith Co., TN. sometime around 1832 per the following found in the Warren Co., Tennessee Deed Book K, Pages 306-307 & dated 11 August 1832 ... Thomas Hopkins of Warren county sold land in Warren County to Joseph & Josiah Spurlock of Smith County ...

* He moved to Jackson Co., TN. sometime about 1846.

** I have created this memorial for my 4th Great Grandfather knowing full well I have no proof he is buried here, my reason for placing him here is due to the fact that three of his children are proven to be buried here & he does need a memorial.
