Carl Vincent Pearson, 88, of Red Wing, formerly of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, at his home.

Carl was born at home on March 2, 1926, to Axel Walter and Minnie M. (Rundquist) Pearson. He was a graduate of Ellsworth High School.

Carl married Joyce Betcher on June 18, 1949, in Owatonna, Minn. Carl worked as a master carpenter and later worked for Kings Cove in Hastings, Minn., for 33 years.

Upon his retirement, he and Joyce purchased the East Ender Bar in Ellsworth, and again retired after 10 years of ownership.

Carl enjoyed reading, putting puzzles together and keeping up with current events.

Surviving him are his three children, Deborah (Tom) Howard, Ellsworth, Wis., Scott (Barbara) Pearson, Chaska, Minn., and Carla (Brent) Langer, Ellsworth, Wis.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald (Sandra) Pearson, Mountain View, Calif.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Joyce; daughter, Nancy; grandson Kade; and brothers, Alvin and Arthur; and sister Florence Howe.

Funeral services for Carl will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, Wis. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
