Cassandra Rae Cheguis-Bell, 27, Glenburn, formerly of New Town, died Monday, December 1, 2014 in her home in Glenburn.

Casie was born on Constitution Day, September 17, 1987 in Minot, the daughter of Craig and Lorna (Wadholm) Cheguis. She was raised at New Town and attended New Town Public Schools. During high school she was a wrestling cheerleader and helped with stats and video for the football team. She worked at Bratvold Variety Store and the Sunset Motel. Casie graduated from New Town High School in 2006.

She then worked at Northrop Grumman in New Town. Her daughter Kisa was born on July 10, 2007. In July of 2009, Casie started to have health problems caused by pulmonary hypertension. She became a candidate for organ transplant on August 13, 2010 and on August 24, 2010 she got the call for transplant at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Following her transplant surgery she met Samuel Luke Bell, while recovering at the Gift of Life House in Rochester. They were married on June 24, 2011 in Minot and held another ceremony on November 11, 2011 in New Town.

Casie was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in New Town where she taught Sunday school and helped with vacation bible school. She also was involved with Camp of the Cross at Garrison and had a goal of becoming a disciple counselor in the future. She was an active founding member of the Minot Chapter of Magic City Furs and attended national conventions and organized local fundraising events. Casie enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and cooking meals for her family. She was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing pictures. She loved the outdoors and nature, all animals; especially black panthers and wanted to be a wildlife biologist. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family. Blessed be her memory among us.

Casie is survived by: her husband, Luke; daughter, Kisa; stepdaughter, Sarahfina Bell; mother, Lorna Elton (Michael); father, Craig Cheguis (Karen); brothers, Kelly Elton, Loran Elton, Caleb Cheguis, Cory Cheguis and Denin Cheguis; sisters, Jennifer Cheguis, Pam Cheguis and Natasha Cheguis; grandmothers, Arlyn Wadholm and Helen McDonald; father & mother-in-law, Tony and Joleta Bell and several cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers.

Funeral: Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 1:30pm in Bethel Lutheran Church, New Town. Visitation: Saturday, December 6, 2014 from Noon – 5:00 p.m. in Langhans Funeral Home, Parshall Interment: Van Hook Cemetery, rural New Town.
