Mrs. Sophia Pettijohn died in St. Paul last Saturday morning, of pneumonia, aged 65 years and 16 days. She came to this county in Dec 1857, with her first husband, Dr. William Murphy, locating at Wilton. She leaves four sons, J.F., W.M., and F.S. Murphy and B. G. Gorrell and two daughters Mrs. W. H. Young of Holloway, Swift County, Minn., and Mrs. M. Acott, of Winona, Minn. Her remains were brought to Waseca, on Monday and interred in the cemetery east of town, where they will repose by the side of the husband of her youth, who died in 1859.
