Born June 19, 1927, in St. Joseph, she was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph. She graduated from Lafayette High School.
She married Doyle D. Farmer in 1955. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Farmer was a secretary for the St. Joseph School District in the Instructional Office, Personnel Office and at Benton High School.
She was a member of Wyatt Park Christian Church where she served as an elder and was very active in her church. She was a Sunday School Teacher, a summer church camp counselor and manager, Northwest Area Moderator and Christian Women's Fellowship President and 2nd Vice Moderator for the Region of Med-America, and chair of the Region of Med-America 1991, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Capital campaign.
She attended and participated in several Quadrennials which is part of the General manifestation of CWF held at Purdue University.
Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ida (Williams) Schoenlaub; and two sisters, Dorothy Cornman and Emily Schoenlaub.
Survivors: sons, Dean (Susan) Farmer, Antony (Trudie) Farmer, Mark (gina) Farmer, Fredric Timothy (Dennis Wilson); daughter, Kathryn (Richard Hempel; brother, Fred (Shirley Schoenlaub; two sisters, Betty Guthrie and Nancy Schoenlaub; seven grandchildren, five-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Jan. 4, 2011, at Wyatt Park Christian Church, St. Joseph, Mo.
Interment: Memorial park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
