Second husband was George Fitzpatrick, of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, NM. He was a long-time jounalist and editor in the area. They were married Sep 1, 1962 in Ruidoso at the home of Mildred's longtime friends, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Graham of Clovis.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Dr. Fitzpatrick, a nationally recognized educator, has been a classroom teacher, rural school supervisor and principal, university professor and has conducted workshops in education throughout New Mexico where she was Director of Elementary Education for the New Mexico State Department of Education.

She was a graduate of Paris Junior College and earned her B.A. degree from East Texas State University at Commerce, Texas and earned her M.A. degree at Colorado State College. She did post-graduate work at the University of Denver and Northwestern University.

Her doctorate was from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She was the author and co-author of various textbooks and workbooks and a former president of the New Mexico Education Association. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Pi Lambda Theta.
