Julia was the daughter of George and Hagar (Nunn) Bloomfield. Her mother died in 1867. Her father second married Elizabeth Guard on 28 Oct 1869 in Reading, Eng. In Jun of 1871 she and her father, step-mother and siblings, George, Arthur, Ellen and step-brother Harry immigrated to the US through the port of NY aboard the "Emerald" and settled in Philadelphia, PA. Her older sister, Harriet, stayed in Eng. Julia married Harry W. Shuman in 1895 who was from Philly and was a carpenter. They lived on S. 9th St. In 1920 Julia and Harry were still in Philly where Harry was a contractor. They had a son, John L. born in 1902. In 1930 Harry, Julia, John L. and his wife Lillian were living together on Pine St., in Philly. Harry died on 22 Sept 1931, Julia was still alive to sign the death cert. He is buried in Fernwood Cem
