Donald Dale Dorsey, 62, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005 in Houston with his wife Doris and family by his side. Don had complications from a double-lung transplant.

Don was born in Sayre, Oklahoma, January 10, 1943 to Earl and Mildred Dorsey. He was retired from the United States Army after 21 ½ years, with two tours in Vietnam, one in Bosnia and one in Desert Storm, as a helicopter mechanic.

He was a past Governor of Moose Lodge 734 in Corpus Christi and a lifetime member of the V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Mildred Dorsey, his brother Luther, sister-in-law Rose, and grandson Willis Everson.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Doris; brother Kenneth Dorsey; sister Erlene (TJ) Brimer; children Donald Dale (Mary Ann) Dorsey, Dezoria (Scott) Whitaker, Tammy (Glen) Placker, Robert (Cindy) Jefferson, and La Denna (Doug) Moore; grandchildren Damon (Lindsey), Joseph, Kara, Lauren, Cody, George (Bud), Jessie, Christopher, Amy, Melaine, Robert, Jonathan, William, Melissa, Ellisha, and Kyle; aunts Audrey Loftis and Ellen (Harley) Loop; several nieces and nephews; special friends Burt Cortes and Daniel Murrow as well as many others.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors on Everhart. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 28, 2005 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.

Donations may be made in Mr. Dorsey's name to the Methodist Transplant Charity Fund, 6565 Fannin, SM 447 Houston, TX. 77030-2707.
