Clermont Rioux 1925-2014
At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), November 11, 2014, Mr. Clermont Rioux passed away at the age of 89 years and 10 months. He was the husband of the late Rita Cormier by first marriage and of the late Lina Michaud by second marriage. Born at Grand Falls in 1925, he was a son of the late Paul and Adele (LaFrance) Rioux.
Mr. Rioux was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 21.
He is survived by two daughters, Marlene Vaillancourt (Mike) and Diana Jean (Armand) of Grand Falls, three sons, Melvin (Judy) of Victoria, BC, Don (late Andrea) of Greenwood, NS and Rodney (Beth) of Rothesay, daughter-in-law, Pierrette Rioux (late Guy) of Grand Falls, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two sisters, Pauline Michaud (late Alphonse "Siki") of Grand Falls and Barbara Vickers (Jim) of Bangor, Maine, sister-in-law, Madeleine Rioux (late Ron) of Grand Falls, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Guy, two brothers, Ron and Renaud, two sisters, Rolande Rioux and Jeanelle "Bea" Nadeau.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 15th at 11 a.m. from the St-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion will meet for prayers Friday at 7:30 p.m. For those who wish, donations to the Grand Falls Manor Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
