: Lewis "Ed" Wright, 92, of Charleston, IL passed away at 10:36 pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Charleston Rehab and Health Care Center, Charleston, IL. He was born April 7, 1922 the son of Lewis M. Wright and Mertie Anna Hickey Wright. On May 16, 1970 he married Frances Meriem Hartman Brewer. She passed away on August 31, 2013.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Anna Gill and husband Alan of Paris, IL; step children, Terry Brewer and wife Kristi of Charleston, IL, Judy (Brewer) Davis and husband Bill of Charleston, IL, Scott A. Brewer of Casey, IL, Randy Brewer and wife Angel of Martinsville, IL, Jo (Brewer) Young and husband Tom of St. Joseph, IL, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, wife, one brother and two sisters.
Mr. Wright was the head of maintenance for the Charleston Memorial Hospital in Charleston, IL until its closing is 1977. He then remained to work for Coles County in the same building until his retirement in 1991.
At his request, a graveside service and burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. There will be no visitation.
