Jennifer Lynne Barton, 11, 812 S. Central Ave., Burlington, died at 250 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born June 22, 1985, in Burlington, she was the daughter of James Richard and Juli Anne Brueck Barton.
Jennifer was a student at James Madison Middle School. She was a student of Cheryl's School of Dance, where she took lessons three to four times a week (tap, ballet, point, jazz and production). Her dance group received the grand champion trophy for production numbers in dance two years in a row.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She sang in the All City Choir, was a member of Junior Girl Scouts, played the clarinet in the band and was mass server at St. John's. Jennifer liked school and had many friends.
Survivors include her parents; one sister, Jaclyn Cristina "Jackie" Barton at home; her grandfather, John Brueck of Burlington; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a wake service 7 p.m. Tuesday in Prugh's Chapel, and the family will receive friends until 830 p.m.
The funeral for Jennifer Barton will be 1030 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Revs. Gary Beckman and John Hyland officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
