Milledgeville - John W. Sanford, 83, died Tuesday, December 30, 2002 in a Milledgeville hospital. Mr. Sanford was a native of Milledgeville but had made his home in Macon for many years before returning to Lake Sinclair in 1977. He retired from Chris R. Sheridan in Macon serving as construction superintendent on projects that included, the Macon Coliseum, Bibb Distributors, many churches, homes, and office buildings in the Macon and Milledgeville area. He was a Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church of Macon. Survivors: daughter, Johnie S. Jordan of Rincon; sons, David Sanford of Milledgeville and Jerry Sanford of Macon; brother, James Sanford of Grants Pass, OR; sister, Evelyn Burton of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
