She was a long time member of Elizabeth Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for the four-year-old class for decades.
She was also an Art Instructor for the Cleveland Community College Continuing Education Program, as well as being an award winning sales representative for Avon cosmetics.
She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, and painting, and she won several awards for the pieces she created.
She shared her love of art with children, whom she loved to teach painting.
Linda was also a long time member and past President of the Shelby Optimist Club.
She will be remembered for her humor and always wanted to have a new joke to tell her friends and loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David C. Putnam, Sr.; one granddaughter, Anna Grace Putnam; two brothers, Mitchell Bowen and Herman Bowen; as well as three sisters, Vergie Ledford, Malage Wellmon, and Violet Jones.
