Bessie Mae Parker, 101, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died November 28, 2014 at her home. She was born May 21, 2013 at Wharton, Arkansas, the daughter of Tom and Liza Burgess Easterling. Bessie married Denton B. Parker on December 28, 1931. They lived on a farm on Wharton Creek where they raised a family of eight. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Willie, Lee, George, Leslie and Dolfus Easterling, one son-in-law, John Gage, her loving husband, Denton in 1966, her son, Darl in 2008 and her daughter, Shirley in 2012. Bessie was a member of the Lower Wharton Church. She was a very strong and determined woman who raised part of her family by herself. Bessie Loved to garden, work in her yard, quilt, embroidery and play dominoes. She met everyday with a prayer, a smile and laughter. We will missed her greatly.

Survivors include: two sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry J. and Kay Parker of Scottdale, Arizona and Bobby and Holly Parker of Huntsville, Arkansas and Doris Parker of Berryville, Arkansas; four daughters and three brothers-in-law, Thelma and Bill Hogan of Bethel Heights, Arkansas, Gerry Gage of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Eula and Kelley Eaton of Elkins, Arkansas and Betty and Billy Burnett of Huntsville, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a very special person, Nettie Harvison who has become part of our family and a main caregiver through years of happiness and hardships and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, December 3, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Jim Hepler officiating. Interment will be in the Wharton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Nathan Parker, Denny Gage, Terry Eaton, Jon Parker, Jim B. Parker, Coy Parker, Shannon Burnett and Robbie St. Clair. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hogan, Kelley Eaton, Billy Burnett and Johnnie Gage.
