Born March 16, 1937, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Earl and Thelma (Miles) Walton. He married Nancy J. Headlee on Sept. 6, 1964, and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Jimmy Walton of Shelbyville; three daughters, Julie Walton of Columbus, Jenny Parsley of Shelbyville and Jamie Lawson of Whiteland; three sisters, Marjorie Goodin of Phoenix, Ariz., Pat Sage of Warren, Mich., and Carolyn Shepard of Shelbyville; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Walton graduated in 1955 from Shelbyville High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a self-employed carpenter.
He was a member of First Christian Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
