He served his country for several years in the US Air Force. He retired from the OKC Police Department in 1976 after 10 years of service. He then went on to work for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics where he retired on August 1, 1999 after 23 years of service. His favorite pastimes were fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Helen (Cryer) Acox of Ringling, OK, siblings Charles Ray Acox, Danny Acox and Mary Thompson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Edna, and four children Tim Acox, Stephanie Malone and husband Dustin, Pam Jenkins and husband Mark, Kenneth Hutmacher and companion Will Martin, four grandchildren Jake Yearley, Fallon and fianci Matthew Ventris, Brooklyn Duggan and Mika Choate. Also two great grandchildren Sydney Yearley and Ethan Ventris, two brothers Jerry Acox, Richard Acox and wife Marilyn.
Don was an amazing man, loved dearly by his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held Friday, April 14, 2006 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service with interment following in the Mustang Cemetery, Mustang, OK.
