HINESVILLE -- Charles Edwin Floyd Sr., 69, died April 11 at home. He was a lifelong resident of Liberty County and retired from Georgia DOT after 34 years of service. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Cynthia M. Floyd of Hinesville; three daughters, Wanda Wedincamp and Diana Cook, both of Gum Branch, and Donna Way of Long County; two sons, Charlie Floyd of Riceboro and Ricky Floyd of Hinesville; a sister, Claire Gunter of Hinesville; three brothers, Billy Floyd and Carroll Floyd, both of Hinesville, and James M. Floyd Sr. of Flemington; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oglethorpe Memorial Park. -Savannah Now, April 1999
