The town of Raymore, Cass County, Missouri was named after George Henry Rea (1816-1896) and Henry Clay Mooore (1813-1889) of St. Louis. They were involved in the Railroad that ran through the town and when they added a depot the town was named "Raymore" by putting their two last names together (although Rea was spelled by enunciation (Ray) rather than actual spelling (Rea).
