Roswell, New Mexico, Daily Record, Thursday, August 26, 1999, page B8 -----Ned Allen----Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, for Ned Allen, 81, of Roswell, who passed away August 24, 1999, in Albuquerque.The Rev. Charles Spooner of Trinity United Methodist Church will conduct the service. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.Ned was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Colfax, Texas to Elija Ardist and Nora Frances Geddie Allen. His parents preceded him in death, as well as three brothers and one sister.He came to New Mexico in January 1938. He met Inez Wright on October 31, 1938. They were married in Roswell. She survives him at the family home.He is survived by his sons, Henry Allen and his wife, Connie, of Carlsbad, Willard Allen and his wife, Nellie of Artesia, Ardist Allen and his wife, Sylvia, of Roswell and Roy Allen and his wife, Jacque, of Roswell. He is also survived by five grandsons, three granddaughters, five great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.Others surviving Allen are two brothers, Bill Allen of Carlsbad, and Ethan Allen of Rising Star, Texas; two sisters, Era Harris of Alex, Oklahoma, Eula Harris of Hagerman and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Cody Allen, Lance Allen, Shawn Allen, Todd Allen, Heath Allen, Tom Banks and Kelly Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Doyle Denny, Morgan Van Winkle, Orville Compton and Sam Pettit.Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
