1920 - 2014
Ernest Linton Robinson passed away peacefully November 14, 2014, after a brief period of declining health. He was born October 18, 1920, in River John, Pictou, Nova Scotia the son of James and Sarah (McRae) Robinson. As a young boy the family of seven moved west to Trail in 1926. He attended schools in Trail, B.C. In the early 40's the family removed to Vancouver, B.C. where he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the war he graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Education, then his masters at the University of Illinois.
He married Edna Hankinson December 23, 1969 Grande Prairie, Alberta. He met his wife, I guess you would call it a blind date as he was suppose to be going to a nurses ball but his date couldn't make it. His date offered to find him another one which would become his future wife 6 months later.
Ernest loved travelling and they spent several years in Cape Town, South Africa. He truly loved the world and often remarked of the many places he visited and the many close friends he made.
He was predeceased by his wife Edna, his brothers Donald and Irvin; sisters Elsie and Dorothy. He is survived by his step son Ernie, a brother Norman, a sister Lois and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial will be held his nephew's home at 185 East 20th Avenue in Vancouver on January 31.
