Joe attended school at St. Paul - Shiloh Public School, Oakwood, Texas. He accepted Christ as a child and united with Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Oakwood, Texas. He was a life member.
On November 25, 2014 in Oakwood, Texas, Joe left this earth on the wings of angels. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lee and Andrew Lee Gipson; son, Kelvin Gipson; sister, Jennivee Gipson.
