Marjorie M. Bartlett Moad, 87, Overland Park, KS, passed away May 2, 2004, at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 105th and Holmes. Friends may call 12-1 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Marge would like flowers or contributions to Children's Mercy Hospital, 2401 Gilllham Rd., Kansas City, MO, 64108. Marge's parents, Albert and Matilda Bartlett, and older brother, Harold A. Bartlett, preceded her in death. She was born October 6, 1916, in Kansas City, MO, where she lived until 1971; lived in Raytown, MO, until 1986, and then moved to her present home in Overland Park, KS. She attended Kensington Elementary School, and graduated from Central High School in 1933, at the age of 16. She was a member of Bader Memorial Christian Church (previously Jackson Ave. Christian) for over 75 years. She was a member of Eastern Star since 1942, was Worthy Matron of Harmony Chapter #162 in 1947, and current member of Golden Gate Chapter #58. Marjorie was married to William D. Moad for 51 years. He passed away in 1985. She worked for Montgomery Ward for 42 years and the last 15 years in the Regional Law Dept. as an Executive Secretary, retiring in 1979. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Charles Perkins; two granddaughters and husbands, Shirley and Michael Reeves, and Mary and David Joyce, all of Overland Park, KS; brother Kenneth Bartlett and wife Phyllis, Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Diana Burke, Kansas City, MO, and Maxine Pendleton and husband Robert, Raytown, MO; greatgrandchildren Natalie, Courtney, and Brooke Reeves, and Carl and Alex Joyce; six nieces and three nephews; several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
