Goldie was born Sept. 16, 1919, in Muscatine, the daughter of Earl and Mary Dunham Yerington. She married Fred W. Mittan on April 3, 1937, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1992. Goldie was a homemaker and a cook for several years at Cryovac. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended Good News Baptist Church and the Church of God of Prophecy. Goldie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, singing and reupholstering furniture with her husband, Fred.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters and a grandson, Jack.
