Marjorie Howard (Vincent)

Marjorie passed away with family by her side Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at John Ganton’s Countryside Care Center at the age of 88. Marjorie was born in Jackson, Michigan October 6, 1926 to Herbert and Rose Vincent. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George (Red); her parents; her daughter Sharon Scott; daughter-in-law Susan Howard; brothers: Phillip (Pat), Leonard, Harold and Robert Vincent and sister Shirley Huntoon. Marjorie is survived by her three children, George Jr: William; and Gloria (Ted) Stout all of Jackson, son-in-law Roy Scott of Grass Lake nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; sisters: Evelyn Ratliff, Elaine (Monroe) Howard, and Lilah (Merlyn) Smith all of Michigan, brother Jerry (Mary) Vincent of Arizona and several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law .

Marjorie was a great cook and a meticulous homemaker. In her younger years she enjoyed, knitting, crocheting, camping, and watching her grandchildren. Marjorie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family. We want to thank the staff in “The Meadows” at Countryside for their genuine loving care of our mom during her 6 plus years there and for their kindness to the family during her final days. Prior to her stay there, we want to thank granddaughters Teresa Konopka and Sarah Stout, sister-in-law Monica Bernice Hackworth and family friend Carlene Konopka for the help we received from them taking care of her. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM. at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 120 E. Wesley St., Jackson, MI, 49201. Private interment at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Father Richard Eberle O.S.F.S. will be the celebrant. The family will receive friends at the Church from 9-10 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
