Andrew was born to Henry and Hannah(Shultz) Barclay on Jan. 6, 1848. Henry Barclay was born in 1805 and died in 1876 in Indiana county, PA. Hannah Shultz was born in 1807 and died in 1884 in Indiana county, PA. It is not certain as to when or why the Barkley name spelling was changed to Barclay. Some family members still used the B A R K LE Y spelling.
