He was born November 15, 1930, in Bismarck, ND, to Beulah (McCurdy) Warren and William W. Warren. Doug attended schools in Bismarck, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1949. Continuing his education at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, he received a Bachelor's Degree in marketing.
He was a Sergeant in the North Dakota National Guard, serving on the front lines in Korea. Doug was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a Sergeant and received several military awards related to his service in the Korean War.
Doug was a member of the Bismarck American Legion and attended McCabe Methodist Church for many years.
Doug was known as a kind person who loved fishing, excelled at card games, collected coins and was interested in all sports. Doug never met a person he disliked or any that disliked him.
Doug is survived by his brother-in-law, Richard (Dick) Thomas; and by sister-in-law, Bernice Warren. Doug is also survived by eight special nieces and nephews, David (Terri) Thomas, Linda (Vik) Jegers, Richard (Jessica) Thomas, Michael Thomas, and Donald (Angie) Thomas, Karen Warren, SSND, Rhonda (Dennis) Eckroth, and Vicki (Patrick) Selzler; as well as many grand nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Doris (Warren) Thomas; and by his brother, Delbert Warren. Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
